On Tuesday, January 12th
2010, a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti
near the capital of Port-au-Prince. The damage to buildings
is extensive and the number of injured or dead is estimated
to be in the hundreds of thousands. This was the worst
earthquake to hit the area and as many as 3 million people
have been directly affected. The goal of the Youth Power
Movement/YPM is to assist Haiti with its relief efforts and
recovery. In order to do this, we need your help.
Portions of
all donations contributed to the Youth Power Movement will
go towards the relief and long term recovery of Haiti and
its people. We ask each of
you to give what you can to help ensure the people of Haiti
can rebuild a stronger and better place.Your
gift now will help distribute life-saving relief supplies
such as food, clean water, blankets, and other provisions to
children and families devastated by the earthquake and
aftershocks. Your continuous long term donations will not
only be applied towards raising Youth leaders in our own
communities through education, but also rearing a new
generation of Youth leaders in Haiti. Please keep in mind
that we can only do this with your help.

Our core demographic of high school
students is the benchmark for all our programs.
Along with the parents and our youth mentors we
guide these students in developing their
organizational skills, strengthen their academic
performance and help them experience creative
programming to stretch their imagination.
Why do we focus on youth? Quite simply they are our future! Instilling a solid
sense of self and selflessness in our youth will
definitely benefit our community.
We encourage the
youth to focus on community service in all the
programs, to insure they are giving back what is
given to them through our programs.
